Status Effects are a game mechanic that take action in battles, usually caused by a competence. There are a total of eight status effects, commonly with negative impact to their victims. Examples include lowering one's accuracy, draining HP each turn, or preventing the player from moving at all. Most status effects end after battle, with the exception of Poison and Dead.

Poison Gradually drains the victim's HP at a rate of 5% of total HP for every move taken. Cannot recover from this naturally, and it persists after battle. 1 HP is lost for every 4 steps taken. Awaited Embrace Moloch's Meat, Overdone Perspective
Blind Causes victim's attacks to miss more often. Accuracy is cut down to 20%. Has a 20% chance to automatically recover after 3 turns. Requisite Embrace Belial's Meat, Inverse Perspective
Mute Prevents victim's use of competence. Has a 20% chance to automatically recover after 3 turns. Open Embrace Belial's Meat, Inverse Perspective
Palsy Victim is rendered immobile until cured. If all party members receive this status effect, you will get a game over. Impossible Embrace Belial's Meat, Frontal Perspective
Furious Victim attacks automatically but can't use competences. Accuracy is cut down to 50%, and defense is halved. Has a 30% chance to recover after 3 turns. None Belial's Meat, Frontal Perspective
Madness Causes the victim to automatically attack themselves or their party members. Has a 30% chance to automatically recover after 3 turns. None Belial's Meat, Frontal Perspective
Sleep Victim is rendered immobile for a random amount of turns. Has a 25% chance to automatically recover after 1 turn. None Belial's Meat, Overdone Perspective
Dead Victim's HP is zero. Persists after battle. All attacks Joker
